Super Bowl LII
2018 is a big year for our hometown of Minneapolis as we get to welcome sports fans from near and far for Super Bowl LII. Our studio was lucky enough to be asked to partner with Andersen Windows + Doors and KARE 11 to design a temporary warming house and broadcast booth for them to entertain guests, host meet-and-greets, and broadcast the news during the ten days leading up to the big game. The structure was part of a fan experience zone along Nicollet Mall called Super Bowl Live. There were many complexities that came with this project. There were strict size restraints (15'x60' ), many brands to represent (Andersen Windows + Doors, KARE 11, Super Bowl LII, and the NFL), and the incorporation of multiple program elements (a fan photo mosaic, a souvenir penny press, room for meet-and-greets, an LED ceiling installation, a working fireplace, and a broadcast studio). Probably the most challenging piece, however, was that the entire structure had to be constructed along Nicollet Mall in just a few days! Because of these complexities, we partnered with an outstanding team of industry friends to help make it happen. Alongside Gardner Builders, Reigstad & Associates, Star Exhibits, Gopher Stage Lighting, and Andersen's internal product team, we were able to turn our vision into a reality. The structure was designed as prefabricated panels and sections that were assembled at Star's facility and then shipped to the site and put into place. It was a great challenge, but proof that with the right team, anything is possible. We send out a huge THANK YOU to our whole team for a successful project!
